FlexScan FS200
Powerful, pocket-sized OTDR
All-in-one detection, identification, location, and resolution for single-mode optical network issues.

High-performance single-mode testing.
The FlexScan FS200 automates test setup, shortens test time, and simplifies results interpretation to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
The FlexScan FS200 OTDR is an all-in-one solution for detecting, identifying, locating, and resolving single-mode optical network issues. It is designed for both novice and expert technicians working in a range of environments, from FTTH PON to point-to-point networks. It applies industry-standard or user-set pass/fail criteria and displays results using LinkMap color-coded icons that immediately show the health of the network. The FlexScan FS200 automates test setup, shortens test time, and simplifies results interpretation improving efficiency and reducing costs.
FlexScan OTDRs enable both novice and expert technicians to troubleshoot optical networks quickly and reliably or fully characterize newly installed or repaired networks. Using FlexScan’s innovative SmartAuto mode, multiple OTDR scans quickly and accurately detect, locate, identify and measure network components and faults. After applying industry-standard or user-set pass/fail criteria, the characterized network is displayed using FlexScan’s intuitive, icon-based LinkMap view.
FlexScan automates test setup, shortens test time and simplifies results interpretation, improving efficiency and reducing the cost of test. Acquired results may be stored internally or externally. Internally stored results are easily accessed via USB, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
With optional connector inspection, integrated source, power meter and VFL, FlexScan offers an all-in-one solution, ensuring technicians have everything they need to locate and resolve optical network issues. Designed for field use, FlexScan is robust, rugged, lightweight, powerful, and flexible.
All-in-one test capability
The FlexScan FS200 includes an integrated VFL, power meter, and light source. It can be easily paired to AFL’s award-winning FOCIS family of inspection scopes, ensuring technicians have everything they need to locate and quickly resolve optical network issues.
Performance-packed
With SmartAuto multi-pulse acquisition, up to 37dB dynamic range, and best-in-class 25m PON dead zone, FlexScan FS200 PON OTDRs test FTTH PONs up to 1:64 while still detecting and measuring events only meters apart.
It’s fast
FleXpress mode completes dual-wavelength tests in <5 seconds – 10x faster than conventional OTDRs. For multi-fibre testing, FS200s automatically control AFL’s MFS Multi-fibre switch (12-fibre MPO switch) to further reduce multi-fibre test time.
Pocket-sized
At 86mm x 160mm x 43mm and less than 0.4kg, FlexScan FS200 OTDRs truly fit in your pocket, yet still provide a large, bright indoor/outdoor touchscreen display, and all-day operation.

FlexScan FS200 models
FS200-50
1550nm only version for cost-effective network troubleshooting, including detection of high-losses due to macro-bends
FS200-100
1310/1550 version for more complete installation verification, as well as troubleshooting. By testing at both wavelengths, FlexScan can differentiate poor splices from macro-bends, as well as qualify the network for operation in both 1310nm and 1550nm windows.
Both models include an integrated VFL and are available with optional integrated source, power meter and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi wireless communications.
