We have pioneered communications infrastructure through much of our 140-year history. We are well-known in the field of optical fibre-based communications, but are also at the forefront of wireless communications utilising our advanced millimetre wave (mmWave) phased array antennas.
Thanks to our advanced engineering and manufacturing capabilities, we are enabling the next generation of 5G antennas which significantly increase the performance of 5G antennas by utilising advanced mmWave technology.
We have two solutions available for base-station applications: 28GHz Phased Array Antenna Modules (PAAM) and 60GHz wireless communications modules.

Fujikura PAAM operates at 24-30 GHz and supports concurrent dual-pol. It integrates RF-ICs, filter and array antenna and benefits customers with optimal TCO and reduced development time. To rapidly transmit and receive large amounts of data at once, it is essential to increase communication speeds. The use of broad frequency bands is one method for increasing communication speeds. At present, the Ultra-high Frequency (UHF) bands, or so-called centimetre wave bands, are used for communications. However, these frequency bands are divided up for use in various applications. This makes it difficult to secure broad frequency bands.

High-speed, large-capacity wireless communication systems have become an indispensable infrastructure in all fields as a driving force for building a smart society. The 60GHz band millimetre-wave (mmWave) wireless system is license-free, low cost and facilitates building high-speed networks compared to licensed wireless communication systems such as 5G and local 5G systems.
Fujikura embedded 60GHz mmWave wireless communications modules use a high gain phased array antenna, capable of achieving high-speed wireless communication in the 60GHz frequency band. Their compact design combines a baseband wireless modem function and an antenna with an included RF front end function.
Our 60GHz system provides the ideal solution for customers who aim to achieve a broad range of objectives including establishment high-speed, wide-band private communication networks and ‘smartification’ of sites, workplaces, commercial/ industrial facilities. The 60GHz system is also an excellent solution for the transmission of high-definition, low-delay images, plus V2X communication in public transportation (e.g. buses, trains) and industrial vehicles and can also play an integral role in the building of wireless backhaul and wireless mesh networks.
