Specialty splicers and accessories
LZM-100
Laser splicer
The world’s most advanced splicer and glass processing system.

Ensuring repeatable performance and low maintenance specialty splicing.
The LAZERMaster LZM-100 is the world's most advanced laser splicing and glass processing system.
Splicing or adiabatic tapering (to create mode field adapters or pump combiners) can be performed with glass diameters of 2.3 mm or more. The high-resolution optical analysis system works in conjunction with on-board firmware for fully automatic splicing, tapering and other glass shaping processes.
The LAZERMaster on-board firmware is virtually identical to that of the Fujikura FSM-100 ARCMaster series splicers. The system is intuitive and very easy to operate. Operations may also be performed manually and by PC control. A SpliceLab PC control GUI is provided, pre-installed on the notebook PC that is included with the LZM-100, providing greater flexibility and finer control relative to the LAZERMaster on-board firmware. The LAZERMaster version of SpliceLab is also very similar to ARCMaster splicer series SpliceLab. Customers can create proprietary PC control algorithms using a complete set of PC control commands.
LZM-100 features
Clean and stable CO2 laser as heat source
The LZM-100 uses a CO2 laser heat source to heat fibre, ensuring repeatable performance and low maintenance, and eliminating electrode or filament maintenance and instability. CO2 laser heating also eliminates any deposits on the fibre surface that might occur from use of a filament or electrodes. The very clean and deposit-free fibre surface ensures reliable operation of very high power fibre lasers or power delivery systems.
- Cleanest and lowest maintenance heating source available
- Class 1 laser safety enclosure with triple redundant interlock
- Dual split laser beam from a stabilized CO2 laser to achieve uniform heating
Advanced glass processing application
An advanced, configurable system capable of producing tapers, ball lens, combiners, MFA, TEC, glass shaping, and splicing.
Laser power stability
Typical CO2 lasers have an output power fluctuation of +/- 5%. This produces inconsistent splicing results and may cause irregularity and ripple in a taper profile.
The LZM-100 utilizes proprietary (patent pending) closed-loop power stabilization techniques, resulting in power stability within 0.5%. This enables highly repeatable processes.
Advanced adiabatic tapering capability
Thanks to the user-friendly tapering graphical user interface.
